Ferrari Luce EV "Chassis 0" Heads to Charity Auction

Ferrari has consigned its first-ever production electric vehicle, the Luce "Chassis 0," to a charity auction at RM Sotheby's Monterey Car Week. The custom-built EV features a one-of-one Madreperla Semilucida pearlescent paint finish, and all proceeds from the high-profile sale will benefit the Ferrari Foundation's educational programs Source.

Co-designed with Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson’s creative collective, LoveFrom, the Luce represents a significant shift for the Italian carmaker. Under its aesthetic and architectural shell is an all-electric powertrain producing 1,050 horsepower from four independent electric motors. This propulsion system allows the five-seat vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 2.5 seconds, powered by a structural 122 kWh battery pack. The car also features a patented acoustic system designed to amplify authentic mechanical vibrations, rather than generate artificial engine sounds.
