Virtual closet: a searchable record of what you own
A virtual closet is not a digital scrapbook. It is the difference between guessing what you own and knowing it. Once your pieces are recorded, every other styling decision, from packing to buying, gets easier because it is based on the real wardrobe rather than the one you remember.

What goes into a closet entry
Category, colour, season, an optional photo and an optional price. That is enough for the tools that read your closet to say something useful.
Photos are added by you; Trend Tutor Academy does not import from retailers or scan your camera roll automatically.
The tools that read your closet
The Gap Analyzer shows the categories that are thin, so you shop against a gap instead of a mood. Cost per Wear divides the price you recorded by the wears you logged. The Closet Color Palette groups your recorded colours so you can see why half your wardrobe refuses to mix.
The Capsule Builder and Personal Style Finder work from the same records, which is why a rough half hour of cataloguing pays off across five different tools.
How to catalogue without losing a weekend
Do it in three passes. First the pieces you wore this month. Then the ones you would grab in a hurry. Then, if you feel like it, the long tail at the back.
If a piece has not been worn in a year and you feel nothing looking at its photo, that is data too.
How to use it
- Add your most-worn pieces first, one at a time.
- Record colour, category and price where you know it.
- Log wears as you go, even roughly.
- Run the Gap Analyzer once you have thirty or so items.

Questions people ask
- Does the closet import clothes from my order history?
- No. You add pieces yourself. Nothing is scraped from retailers or your email.
- How many items do I need before the tools are useful?
- Around thirty gives the gap and palette tools enough to work with. Cost per wear becomes interesting after a few weeks of logging.
- Is my closet private?
- Yes. Your closet is tied to your account and is not shown to other users.
